The Lone Gunmen was an American science fiction and comedy-drama series created by Chris Carter for FOX. It ran from March 4 to June 1, 2001 for one season. It spun off from The X-Files.

Series summary[]

John Fitzgerald Byers (Bruce Harwood), Melvin Frohike (Tom Braidwood) and Richard Langley (Dean Haglund) are three conspiracy nuts who run The Lone Gunman, a counter-culture newspaper. When not writing the paper or helping out FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (from The X-Files), they also investigate corporate crime, government conspiracies and other mysteries (generally with a less fantastic or science-fictional bent than their parent show).

They are joined by Jimmy Bond (Stephen Snedden), a handsome and brave - if rather naive - ally who handles much of the physical work, and Yves Adele Harlow (Zuleikha Robinson), a beautiful international thief who alternately helps and hinders the heroes.

Parent show[]

The X-Files spun off The Lone Gunmen, where they initially appeared as supporting characters but quickly became fan favorites. "Jump the Shark", from the final season of The X-Files, was the last episode to feature the Gunmen and featured cameos from Jimmy Bond and Yves Adele Harlow.
