Criminal Minds is an American police procedural series created by Jeff Davis for CBS. It began running on September 22, 2005 and is in its thirteenth season.
Criminal profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate violent and unusual crimes, with episodes focusing largely on the criminals rather than the crimes themselves. The cast is large and frequently changes members; the current team includes unit chief Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), and special agents Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), Jennifer Jareau (AJ Cook) and Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler).
- "The Fight" was the backdoor pilot for Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. It was a short-lived spin-off series starring Forest Whitacker as unit chief Sam Cooper. It was canceled after one season.
- "Beyond Borders" was the backdoor pilot for Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
Morley cigarettes, first appearing in Beverly Hills, 90210 and smoked by the Cigarette Smoking Man in The X-Files, were an important clue in the Criminal Minds "North Mammon" investigation; they are also smoked by characters in several other shows: Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lois in Malcolm in the Middle, Warwick Brown in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Madeline Westen in Burn Notice.
