Batman‏‎ is an American superhero action sitcom created by William Dozier for ABC. It ran from January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968 for three seasons.

Synopsis[]

A campy comedy series focused on the adventures of Batman & Robin, each episode would serve up a new wacky villain for the dynamic duo to face. Once they tracked a villain down through detective work, they would often end up in a perilous situation which would be resolved at the start of the next episode. The series is well known for its quotes ("Holy [blank] Batman!"), recurring scenes like rope-climbing up a tall building and iconic villain portrayals, including Cesar Romero's famous Joker and Burgess Meredith's Penguin, which is still usually how he's portrayed to this day, especially in lighter Batman affairs.

Spin-off[]

Batman spun off a theatrical film between its first and second seasons.
